In this new programme Glasgow Women’s Library invite women to find out about how to put the ME in Media.  Join us to discover how books, film, music, magazines and other media can influence us and how we can bite back!  In this programme we will use media to express ourselves and connect with others and explore media from a positive perspective, boosting our self esteem and confidence.

Cinema Feminista
How are women represented in film, and what happens when they get behind the camera? This 8 week course will give you the opportunity to enjoy thought provoking films that look at issues women face today.

Starts Wednesday 6 October, 5.30pm to 7.30pm
Additional screening of Black Narcissus is available for those that couldn’t attend the first session on Monday 11 October at 2pm in the library, it is essential that you contact us if you want to come along, or you can watch the film in your own time and join us during week 2 for the discussion.

We need a minimum of 12 people registered on this course for it to continue so if you are intrested please contact us and if you have any questions we will do our best to answer them.

This is an 8 week course supported by DACE. On alternate weeks we will discuss the films and focus on the representation (and misrepresentation) of women in film and the psychology that underlies this.
