Merchant City Women’s Heritage Walk
23rd April at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm£6 - £10
Meet the trailblazing women who made the Merchant City and walk with us as we reveal the hidden histories and unsung contributions of the women who shaped the area.
Merchant City Women’s Heritage Walk, Sunday 23rd April, 2pm to 4pm
Let us introduce you to formidable midwives, ‘the Scots Scarlet Pimpernel’ Jenny Patrick, and a hatchet-wielding temperance campaigner from Kentucky known as ‘the bar-room smasher’. Our Merchant City Women’s Heritage Walk digs deeper into the lives of the barnstormers and businesswomen, reporters and radicals who built this part of Glasgow with their determination, talent and skill.
“I loved the informality of the event. It felt very welcoming and accessible.” – Tour Participant
