In order to write her novel, The Gori’s Daughter, Shazia Hobbs drew extensively on her experiences of growing up in Glasgow as a mixed race child, with a Scottish mother, a Pakistani father, and his Pakistani wife. Shazia’s book is brave and outspoken, revealing the best and the worst of both the Pakistani and the white communities.

This is a Read, Relax, Recharge special event. All are welcome.

This event is followed by our Write a Letter, Make a Difference workshop, where we will help you write a letter to someone imprisoned abroad as part of Banned Books Week activity.
