This series of events offers women the opportunity to think about different areas of their health. At the events a film, depicting women’s lives, is shown, before a group discussion about women’s health.  This programme includes two events:

Killing Us Softly
Monday 27th February, 11am to 2.30pm

Jean Kilbourne’s film discussing the impact of media images of women. Kilbourne reviews if and how the image of women in advertising has changed over the last 20 years. With wit and warmth, Kilbourne uses ads and TV commercials to critique advertising’s image of women. She invites viewers to look at familiar images in a new way, that moves and empowers them to take action.

Scottish director Lynne Ramsay’s film about one woman trying to come to terms with her son’s actions and the responsibility she feels throughout his upbringing.
