Dumfries women’s reading circle – Reading for Well Being

Our new Dumfries women’s reading circle met for the first time at North West Resource centre on Wednesday 27th June. This new group is a chance to meet up with other women, have a cup of tea and chat about novels, poems or stories you’ve read and enjoyed. Rather than everyone reading the same book and talking about it, you can bring along anything you like and tell the group about it, why you’ve enjoyed it, then pass it on to other group members – or you can just come along and listen. The group is very informal and is free of charge.  Joanna brought along a poem by Joyce Sutphen , “Out of the Cave” and said, “it’s one of those poems that reminds us to wake up, and that it’s never too late to wake back up from the busyness of our lives. One of the things I think poetry is great at reminding us!”

At the next meeting we’ve decided to have the theme of “A journey”. Bring along anything – poem, story, novel, and it can be about any kind of journey – an inner journey, a physical journey – a novel or story about travelling, a life journey – or anything else you can think of. If you’d like to come along or find out more about the Dumfries women’s reading circle, contact Morag Smith on 0141 248 9969 or Cathy Crompton at North West Resource Centre on 01387 279279. The group meet on the last Wednesday of every month next meeting, Wednesday 25th July, 6-7.30pm.

Hi Kriss, you can copy and paste from this I think, or copy the link from the address bar and add it. I’ve also got this on the women’s library facebook page so you could probably link to it that way.
